“Circle Time” is one of those phrases we throw around a lot, and it means something different to every person. First and foremost, circle time–sometimes also called “morning meeting”–can be method-dependent. In Montessori classrooms, children as young as two have circle or “line time,” and use this time to practice listening and language skills by participating in respectful conversations, follow directions, learn new skills, and work out those social skills and cues of becoming part of a community.
